Najib is a Patent Attorney and Lawyer, specializing in Intellectual Property Law (IP). At ISUS IP, Najib manages the IP portfolios and IP strategy of Israeli start-ups as well as large and established Israeli technological companies, in all aspects of their IP, including patents and design patents. Najib’s responsibilities range from representation before the Israeli Patent Office, drafting and prosecuting patent and design applications, conducting patentability searches, and giving due diligence and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Possessing a background in Biomedical Engineering, Najib is experienced in the fields of medical physics (e.g., diagnostic ionizing and non-ionizing imaging, therapeutics), medical devices (e.g., ophthalmology and aesthetics), biotechnology, tissue engineering, biomechanics, signal processing, and more. Additionally, Najib has gained a vast experience in inventions encompassing mechanics, electronics, agriculture, augmented reality and artificial intelligence, to name a few.
Prior to joining ISUS IP, Najib worked for many years as a patent attorney at the Physics and Life Science & Chemistry departments of a leading Israeli IP firm. He was responsible for managing client IP portfolios, drafting patent applications, prosecuting patent applications worldwide, counselling and giving opinions on patentability, due diligence and freedom to operate, and more.
At the start of his law career, Najib worked in various law offices, including establishing his own law office with other partners, where he serviced clients in the areas of general Civil Law, Injuries, Contracts and more.
Among other talents, Najib plays the violin and has performed in the Technion Philharmonic Orchestra, and in the Tarshiha Band for traditional Arab and Andalusian classical music. Najib has also co-founded a local NGO to encourage educational, social, and cultural awareness in his native village.
Najib holds a B.Sc in Biomedical Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology (2008), and an LL.B. in Law from the University of Haifa (1995). He obtained an M.Sc. in Physics and Engineering in Medicine (Cum Laude) from UCL, University College London (2011).
