Dr. Shada Hofemeier Abuhattum brings a multidisciplinary background spanning biomedical engineering, biophysics, patent law, and AI-based applications in healthcare.
After completing her biomedical engineering studies, Shada joined LifeBond in Caesarea as a biomechanical engineer, where she contributed to the development of medical product while concurrently earning an M.A. in Patent Law through the WIPO program at the University of Haifa. She then moved to Germany, where she pursued a Ph.D. in Physics at Friedrich–Alexander University in Erlangen, specializing in biophysics and cell mechanics.
During her doctoral studies, Shada co-founded Rivercyte, a startup focused on commercializing deformability cytometry for clinical applications. She continues her academic pursuits as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Center for Physics and Medicine, contributing to interdesplicnary research in cell and tissue mechanics, biomaterials, and deep learning applications in healthcare. Her work has resulted in multiple journal publications, solidifying her expertise in the intersection of physics, engineering, and medical technology.
